THE HAWKESBURY CANOE CLASSIC ASSOCIATION INCORPORATED

The Hawkesbury Canoe Classic Association Inc. is made up of past and present paddlers and officials. Their role is to ensure the Classic continues at its present high standard and that the ideals of the Association are perpetuated.

The organisation of the Classic is done by the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic Organising Committee under the leadership of the Event Director. Input from paddlers’ is considered and changes made where appropriate. Persons wishing to assist in any area are always welcome.

The Association oversees the general nature of the event and considers any changes that would alter the basic nature or structure of the event.

The Association is responsible for deciding on major rule changes and sponsorship decisions.

The Hawkesbury Canoe Classic Association Inc. is a small charity registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission.

The sole aim of the Association is to organise the annual Hawkesbury Classic and, in so doing, raise funds for medically-based charities.

For over 30 years, the major recipient of funds raised by paddlers in the Hawkesbury Classic has been Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation.

Itself a relatively small charity, Arrow's mission is to improve the quality of life for patients with blood cancers and other diseases treatable by bone marrow and stem cell transplants.

Our Constitution also provides for lesser donations to be made to NSW State Emergency Service, Marine Rescue NSW, WICEN NSW and Nepean Blue Mountains Prostate Cancer Support Group, all supporters of the Classic.

The Association's ABN is 73 350 155 706 and our NSW Charitable Fundraising Number is CFN 13028

The Association holds Deductible gift recipients (DGRs) Tier 2 status. This provides for the funds raised by the Association (in effect, by the paddlers) to be donated to DGR Tier 1 charities, with Arrow holding Tier 1 status.
